Let’s face it, it’s difficult being a kid these days. So much pressure is put on you to focus on academics, getting good grades, staying motivated, and all at the same time trying to get along with your peers, siblings, parents, and teachers (not to mention how everyone is also competing with your time, energy, and attention). Pow! That’s a lot to Balance!
The funny thing is that most students don’t realize that their performance at school affects things at home, as well as with your friends, and with your overall self. Think about a time your teacher called home with a bad report. Maybe it was about your grades or attitude, whatever the case, you had a horrible day at school to only go home and now your parents and siblings are on your case. In addition, you were so mad you blew your friends off and now they are mad at you too. By the time you go to bed you start feeling bad about yourself and about your day.
The same spiral effect can happen if things start at home, or with friends, or even with yourself. All 4 areas of your life (School, Family, Friends, and Self) are linked together and one affects all. Wouldn’t it be nice to stop all this negative energy before it starts? We need to create balance for you!
Bee Balance keeps it simple. Coach Connie takes a 2-step process to help you discover, through self awareness, the skills you need to work on in order to balance all the demands of being a kid. At the same time, you are developing real life skills that will help you when you are an adult. Think of her as your confidential think partner!
Step 1 - Coach Connie, along with your help, will explore the main components of your life (School, Family, Friends, and Self). Through self awareness skills, you will discover what your values are and what they mean to you. Your values shape who you are, who you want to become, and can increase your self-esteem, motivation, and optimism.We will work together to increase your EI to strengthen the skills needed to keep your balance. Easy Peasy!
Step 2 - Next, we will work together to come up with goals and action steps you can take to create balance. Maybe your goal is to feel better about yourself? Maybe it is how to handle stress? Maybe it’s how to have better communication skills? Maybe you don’t know but are in a funk? We will figure it out together! You are not alone!
