What is Emotional Intelligence (EI)?
Emotional Intelligence is the ability for an individual to recognize and manage their own emotions, as well as recognizing the emotions of other people. Unlike the Intelligence Quotient (IQ) which measures intellectual intelligence and is typically a static measure and is likely stay reasonably constant throughout life, emotional intelligence is part of our human psyche that we can develop and improve by learning and practicing new skills. In other words, IQ has no connection to how people understand each other or how to deal with their emotions. I think we all met someone very smart yet had no idea about how to deal with people.
BEE BALANCE AND EI
Bee Balance has a coaching core that help students start developing self-awareness skills that can help increase their emotional intelligence. Students will evaluate the main elements of EI (self, motivation, empathy, and social, which is represented in each part of the Bee) and what it means to master all the areas to achieve balance (the center of the Bee). When one can increase their EI, they are empowered to be on their way of becoming healthy, productive individuals. It is this concept, along with knowing how these issues connect students with their social world, that led to Bee Balance being born!
At Bee Balance we strive to increase Emotional Intelligence so students are their best with:
